Characters and Plot

First of all, I want to thank you, C.T. Berry, for allowing me to be an ARC reader for this book. I truly appreciate it and am really grateful, and would provide an honest review.

I think this book had a really interesting concept that I rarely see, which is that the main city of this story is a robotic city, where robots help humans with chores and services. I was drawn in by the start of the book, where Laeli, a born genius befriend Kye, but then, for some unforeseen circumstances, Laeli and her mother had to leave their hometown. That mystery had driven me to be interest of how the story unfolded.

However, I didn't feel especially connected to the writing style, which is my personal thing, but I did feel that the dialogue didn't flow naturally as it should. I was especially a bit uncomfortable with how the men in this book talk about the women, calling them "bitches" and "females." Which is fine if it's only the villain doing it, but Jaevi's best friend, whose side was unclear at the beginning, also called women that way, and Jaevi didn't really do anything about it.

Kye is a really interesting character, especially after that ending. I wonder how his arc will evolve next. I really like him in the prologue, but then his character took a huge turn that was explored more.

The plot didn't pull me in that much; maybe it's because sci-fi and dystopian aren't for me. But I'm sure it will appeal to a lot of scifi reader. I did like the motorbike racing plot of it, though.

Conclusion

Overall, the Secrets of Cuniculum isn't my hugest jam, but I did like how I was able to step out of my comfort zone with it. Again, thank you to the author for sending me this book. I highly appreciate it. If you are a scifi and dystopian lover mixing with romance, give this book a go. â€‹
