After Lor makes the biggest mistake of her life, she finds herself on the run from the Aurora King and decides it's time to end this, once and for all. But when a new enemy emerges to claim her freedom, the entire fate of Ouranos comes to rest on her shoulders.

As the land continues to rebel, Lor must admit she is the key to saving the continent, whether she likes it or not. To fight for Nadir, she must lie, steal, and do whatever it takes to hunt down the remaining arks. Growing more and more desperate, she worries her actions are turning her into something she doesn't recognize, dooming her to repeat her grandmother's mistakes.

When the Aurora King finally comes for her, Lor ventures into the Underworld's shadowy depths, where, once again, she finds herself at the heart of another deadly test. Only this time, she’s competing for everyone's future, not just a crown.

The only thing Lor ever wanted was to be free, but she may soon find she was always destined for a cage. - Goodreads

Review:

Characters and Plot

Fantasy authors need to stop killing a significant character then resurrect them the next page, especially when it's so obvious they're not going to really die. This book had some of the fun moments in it, mostly in Gabriel's chapters, Lor chapters show growth and development. However, Nadir chapters were terribly boring, they don't add anything new to the story, it's more of Lor's chapter but in his view, except that this tone and perspective is exactly the same as Lor. I had a really hard time identify who was narrating between the two of them.

I felt like a lot of lore and plot twist about the world building was more confusing and was there to add mores takes to the story, without being strongly developed. I was incredibly bored... and was glad when the book ends. Yet I didn't gave it below a 3 stars because I think it's right were it is, not bad but not good. I still think Lor's journey of becoming a heart queen would been more powerful if we actually saw her leading others, but we barely get any of that. Instead, it's more of really reckless and noble moment, which is fun to read about, but doesn't developed of Lor being a good queen.

I really like Rion's chapter, it's fresh, and like Gabriel, Rion is an interesting character, I found his last moment of vulnerability really add this tragicness of who he could have been.

I think the story wrap up quite nice, I still think there are a lot of un-answer problem... but those probally won't happen until thousand of years later.

Conclusion

Overall, if you like a fast paced, enemies to lovers fantasy romance that is easy to read, and is there more ofr the vibe, I said this is a good go.
