Review

I think it's just time I had to read this legendary series, and I am happy to say I enjoy it. Now, did I think this was the best thing I ever read? No, but I see why it is such a classic in the fantasy world. Before going into this book, I knew pretty much nothing about the world or the characters, as I like to go into my books blind.

I like the Ned Stark investigation of what is happening in King's Landing, and that one Bran chapter was one of the biggest WTF moments. Did I think Ned's ending was very predictable, and I saw it coming miles away, like, sir, why are we telling Cersei what you had just found out :))

Daenerys had to be my favorite character so far; her arc went from a scared, vulnerable girl to a strong leader of the Dothraki clan and mother of 3 dragons. Of course, I ate that up. When she stood up to her brother and forced him to walk at the back of the line, to having the people's respect, was CHEF KISS.

This might be an unpopular opinion, but I love Sansa's POV. Yes, she is annoying and selfish and mean, but there is something about her chapters that just hooks me in: the way her naivity shown through her maneuvering of the court and what she had to suffer under Joffrey. I am very excited to see the direction her character is going.

However, I found myself not emotionally invested in the rest of the cast yet, but I understand that this is the first book and because there are multiple POVs, it's going to take some times for them to grow on me, and I hope the next book would do just that.
