Ok this is way more entertaining compared to the first book. I really like how a certain romantic line didn't become a thing because I didn't see the chemistry. The fight scenes are great as always.
THE KANDRAS ARE BACK, PEOPLE; I REPEAT, THE KANDRAS ARE BACK. MY GOAT TENSOON!!! He and Vin were lowkey my favorite duo in Mistborn Era 1 :) So we got more lore info in this book about the Kandra, which I appreciated. I prefer the pacing in this book, and the characters are growing a lot on me. Wayne, of course, makes me laugh every time.
I did guess one of the twists in this book, and was feeling smart about it, UNTIL BRANDON SANDERSON BOMBARDED ME WITH A SECOND TWIST THAT I WOULD NEVER IN MY LIFE SEE COMING... BECAUSE WHY WOULD I???? And that twist single-handedly recontextualizes basically Wax's whole character arc, and that is a twist I enjoy reading.
