The kingdom of the fey, Wychwood, is getting ready for battle against the humans who despise, hunt, and murder them for money. They prepare their troops for total dominance of the human world with the help of the unclaimed, destructive power of the Winter Court, which was killed and forgotten.
Until the last Icethorn heir, Robin Vale, is revealed. To the detriment of many who would see him dead before destroying their years of preparation, he represents a hope for the humanity he has grown up with.
When Robin discovers a land he has long feared, he finds allies. During the long nights, Gideon, a fey warrior, serves as a distraction. Althea is a fierce princess who is determined to prevent her kind from being killed by human hunters.

He must live long enough to have the option to either follow fate and inherit his family's power or allow it to wreak havoc on a realm that rejected him for being who he was intended to be. He is thrust into a world of betrayal, murder, and deception.
However, monsters are back, a hand seeking retribution is pushing the balance of power, and a great evil is developing.
General Opinion:.
After the Poppy War trilogy, I just need something to vibe with, and this book was IT. The vibe, the plot, the romance, yep, I'm enjoying this.

Characters and Plot
I came for the romance, but stayed for the plot; the romance became a secondary backdrop to me. This book is so much fun; I could never get bored. Every page I turn, there's a new action, a battle scene, or witty banter between Robin and Erix. I enjoy the world-building in here, fairly simple to understand, but it's work. We had 4 Fey courts, each representing a season, and Robin Icethrone represents the Winter court. What I love about the magic elements in here is how Robin had ice magic, something we don't get enough of in fantasy books. Most fantasy books I read are either shadow or fire power, and it's just honestly overdone, so I am glad we had an ice power MC. Also, the concept that if you had more family members, your magic power would be more divided, making your power weaker individually, that's a cool concept and one that makes so much sense. The plot was just plotting, it was so fun, and entertaining, I keep on wondering what's going to happen next, and could not wait to found out.

The plot twist at the end... DID NOT SEE THAT COMING!!! My jaw was on the floor, like what???

Robin and Erix are cute. I was honestly expecting a bit more development on their part; however, I did enjoy the banter between them, though the spice scene did arrive a bit too quickly. I think it's because they are attracted to each other when first met, and I'm not the one for insta-attraction. However, I do like how they took some time to hang out and get to know each other, even though Robin's thirst over Erix did get annoying at times.

Though I will say that there are multiple repetition of the phrase "the kiss of" or just "kissed of", one or two times, it's fine, can be seen as good use of words, but as it turn on every single pages, I had to refrain the urge to roll my eye. There are some typos, but it's easy to look past them, as they rarely show up.

Conclusion
Overall, it was a really fun read. I would recommend it if you are looking for a m/m fantasy romance series, or just wanting something fun to vibe too.
