As the war intensifies, events in the Banished Lands are reaching a peak. Three of the Seven Treasures are in the hands of King Nathair, who has taken over the Drassil castle. Nathair will stop at nothing to get the remaining Treasures, as will Calidus and his ally Queen Rhin. He can open a portal to the Otherworld if he can control all seven. At last, Asroth and his army of demons will enter the Banished Lands and transform into human beings.

The Jotun, warrior giants who charge into battle on their massive bears, had captured Corban in the meantime. With his warband dispersed, Corban needs to find new allies in order to survive. Can he, however, form bonds with rival groups of warlike giants? If he wants to combat the threat that Nathair poses, he must somehow.

General Opinion:

I finally finish this series, and I love it so much. This was the perfect ending to the series, amazing battles, with so many sacrifices that touch me.

Characters and Plot

The plot was slow initially, with Corban being captured and his friends rescuing him, so it wasn't much. However, the story picks up afterwards, with Veradis' warband meeting Corban, joining him in defeating Nathair and Calidus. Veraids was reluctant to face Nathair, as they used to be as close as brothers, and I feel for him, as my least favorite thing that can happen in a book is when close friends fall out.

Again, same as the other books, all the battle scenes were amazing, especially when it's Maquin's chapter. I swear, Maquin can take on Calidus; he is properly the best warrior in the book. Maquin can take on 10 giants and walk out alive. His rage was so prominent that it made him my favorite character, along with Fidele; they made such a beautiful couple.

Calidus' death was so satisfying, though it could have been a bit longer, for all the deaths that he cause all my favorite characters to go through.

I know that Corban will get some plot armor, but they are getting a bit ridiculous in his battle with Calidus, there was a scene where Calidus was holding up Corban by one of his hand, and was striking his sword at Corban, yet Corban manage to block it with 1 hand, while being held up. Um... Also, why is the Fallen God so weak? What do you mean that Corban and his friends manage to hold him off using only their swords, like you are a God, act like one.

But overall, the ending was wrapped up well, and Storm was alive. I was so scared that she might die. She was my baby, now I want a wolf as a pet.

Conclusion

Overall, this series was eye-opening and resonated so well with me, as a fantasy lover. If you are looking for a fantasy read that is not romance-heavy, action-packed, with good pacing, and a compelling plot, then pick up this series. It is criminally underrated.
